Our Staff
Steve Konik
The outdoors has been an integral part of Steve's life. His fascination and deep passion for the natural world and the Charlottes is infectious. He is a relaxed and jovial companion. A true explorer at heart, Steve is always looking for the path less traveled. Steve has been able to log more than 900 water days in the Queen Charlotte Islands by working primarily with Moresby Explorers Ltd, but also with University of Calgary, and Gabriola Cycle and Kayak. He is a certified Lead Sea Kayak Guide with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC, and educated with Diplomas in Forestry and Tourism Management.
When Steve is not exploring the islands through the summer, Steve can be found at home with his family. |
 |
In the cold winter months Steve can be found somewhere in the mountains of Western Canada where he works as a ski guide. Steve is a certified Ski Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association.
His favorite part of guiding is the relationships he makes with his guests. They start as strangers and leave as friends, as states his wife, Lise
Lise Gascon
The outdoors has been an integral part of Lise's life. She is the true backbone to the operation. A seasoned paddler of the Queen Charlotte Islands, Lise helps operates the office when Steve is out and about.
Lise is a school teacher, but her new full-time job is taking care of the latest addition to our family.
Though she may not be a certified guide on your tour, she is truly my island GEM, as states her husband Steve |

Christine Hawes
OSK is lucky to have someone like Christine working for them for her second season. She is an assistant guide that is fun loving, energetic, and who has spent a lot of time kayaking in the Queen Charlotte Islands and the West Coast of BC.
If one was to pick one word to describe her it would be Genuine. Christine has a way of putting a smile on everyone's face. You will definitely be laughing on a trip with Christine. If not traveling abroad, Christine can be found in Kamloops were she is currently finishing her degree in Adventure Tourism.
Christine's love of the outdoors is infectious. |
